物料短缺是每間企業心目中的痛，卻又難以避免之。而在現今的環境中，物料短缺的範圍已從以往關鍵的少數零組件變得更加一般化的物料，造成短缺的原因相當多元。
本研究利用質化研究的方式，針對物料短缺的可行策略進行探討擬定，研究結果其可行策略如下：
1.短期策略－用以解決目前已發生之缺料，相當緊急。包括：（1）現貨市場調貨；（2）未出貨成品庫存拆解零件；（3）調貨催料。
2.長期策略－用以未雨綢繆，降低未來缺料風險。包括：（1）改善料件承認作業流程；（2）供應商備庫存；（3）供應商評鑑；（4）備料庫存因應；（5）尋求第二、三供應貨源；（6）提高主力產品共用料比例；（7）變更設計。
