Due to the impact of COVID-19, the development of mobile payment has accelerated around the world. With the mobile wallet research report conducted by Juniper Research, it is pointed out that there are 2.8 billion mobile payments worldwide in the end of 2020. According to statistics from the Financial Supervisory Commission Taiwan, the transaction amount in mobile payment exceeded NT$423 billion.
With the coronavirus outbreak affect the global economy, large-scale retailers have accelerated their digital transformation with developing their own apps. Meanwhile, to expand their customer base, retailers combining the functions of mobile wallets and creating a member database, which is the trend in the development of future industry. And Taiwan had also amended the law about mobile payment, which means that customers will have more options for mobile payment in the future, which is a big challenge for the operators.
The study refers to the model of Post-Acceptance Model of IS Continuance and add the dimension of resistance to change to explore the factors which affect the intention of continuous use. With questionnaire survey on the Internet for the target audience of this research is the customers who had used PX PAY. Finally, a total of 253 valid questionnaires are collected and analyzed through regression analysis. After the analysis, we found out that consumers’ perceived usefulness, confirmation, and satisfaction had an effect on intention of continue to use. And, consumer satisfaction has a partial mediation effect on the impact of perceived usefulness to intention of continue to use. The consistency of PX PAY consumers’ perception before use and after experience significantly affect perceived usefulness. In addition, according to the research model, resistance to change has a significant negative impact on the intention of continue to use, and the inertia of consumers will reduce the intention of continue to use.
The research results are expected to provide the domestic retailers and other brand operators who want to launch mobile payment as product strategy recommendations for long-term maintenance, as well as can be the reference for follow-up research in academia.
