  • 閱讀的過程中,讀者隨著故事劇情的起伏,會產生各種不同的情緒狀態。能夠理解情緒在生活中是件重要的能力,可以幫助我們了解對方的感受,在閱讀的過程中亦是如此。隨著故事的發展,讀者會根據不同的敘述方式而產生不一樣情境模型。好比說人稱上的改變,如第一人稱的我,或是第三人稱的他,都會影響讀者閱讀過程中的情境模型建立,進而對於故事有不同的理解及體驗。本研究之目的在於探討透過第一人稱或第三人稱敘述,對於讀者閱讀過程中對讀者情緒、情緒理解、閱讀動機、閱讀理解以及閱讀體驗之影響。為了能夠得知讀者在閱讀過程中的情緒變化,實驗使用emWave情緒壓力檢測裝置了解讀者的正負向情緒起伏,並於實驗過程中根據所閱讀到的故事推測角色當下的情緒狀態,作為情緒理解的紀錄。此外,在閱讀活動後讀者需要根據閱讀到的內容及感受,填寫閱讀動機、閱讀理解以及體驗的問卷。研究以56位大學及碩士生作為研究對象,研究結果發現,透過第一人稱的敘述方式閱讀故事,讀者會對於角色情緒有較好的理解能力,能夠站在角色的觀點體驗角色的感受,並且在故事內容上也有較好的理解。然而在閱讀動機以及閱讀體驗上則沒有顯著的差異。顯示第一人稱的敘述方式以及第三人稱的敘述方式,雖然在整體故事體驗上不會有影響,但是透過第一人稱的敘述,對於故事的理解以及角色的情緒理解有較好的表現。在未來研究上,可以更深入地探討兩者間的情緒變化,或是與研究結果搭配將不同人稱敘述融入角色扮演,得以更加了解不同敘述方式對於閱讀的影響。


    Emotions are aroused while reading. During the reading process, readers feel all kinds of emotions, which make them happy or sad as the plot progresses. Perspective-taking is an important ability for understanding the emotions of each character, especially those of the protagonist. Along with the development of the story, readers adopt different perspectives due to the narrative point of views. Different structures of situational models in pronoun (I, you, he, and she) will lead to different perspective-taking, which will influence the readers’ text/story comprehension or their engagement in reading. The purpose of the current study was to investigate the differences between the readers’ emotional changes and reading experience through the perspective taking of first-person and third-person narration. To investigate the emotion in different perspective-taking readings, the researchers evaluated the readers’ emotions using a emWave system and during the reading activity reader’s marked up protagonist's emotions according to the story plot, as a record of readers’ emotion understanding skills. Also, the participants need to fill out the story comprehension assessment and the reading experience questionnaire after reading the story. Fifty-five undergraduate students were recruited in the study. The result shows that the first-person perspective readers have stronger emotions expression, which were detected while reading. Along with a better understanding of protagonist’s emotions. Furthermore, first-person narration readers have a better experience of flow while reading. However, no difference in the reading motivation between the two groups was found. Although the results shows that when reading stories from different perspective, first-person perspective readers have better performance on reading and emotion understanding, but as in the reading experience shows no difference between each other. Future research could focus on more detail emotions not just positive and negative emotions, also researchers can add role-playing situation into understand whether this will influence how the readers adapt the story and the emotions in the character.
