台灣在這次百年一遇的「金融海嘯」較其他國家面臨更嚴重的經濟衰退,其中一項很重要的原因是一枝獨秀的電子產業出現30年來最慘烈的調整。
全球趨勢大師戴維斯(Stan Davis)曾預言說:「未來20年將是生物科技的時代」,近十年來政府也將生物科技列為國家重點發展科技之一,並投入大量的資源協助產業發展,行政院更擬定「生技起飛鑽石行動方案」,由國發基金帶頭,與民間合資成立規模達新台幣 600億元的生技基金,包括成立生技創投基金、推動整合型育成機制、成立食品藥物管理局,讓生技產業產值倍增,成為兆元產業。
國內生技產業經過10多年的努力,已有公司在技術與管理創新方面表現傑出,隨著兩岸三通與經濟形成更緊密結合,台灣所擁有的優秀技術人才以及較歐美便宜的生產成本,輔以大陸龐大的市場為腹地,將對國內生技產業的發展提供絶佳的環境與機會。
本研究主要針對生技公司依市場之需求,運用本身特有之技術與資源,進行一系列產品功能高度整合研發創新的活動。在市場上提供具有差異化與高效能的產品給消費者,相較於競爭者既有商品的市場策略,更能保持產品的靈活性,並活躍於市場之中。
企業運用相同的研發技術觀念在不同的產品市場上,就是破壞性創新的開始,而將產品運用範圍擴大到多層次多功能方面的支援,就是屬於應用創新部份。企業要不斷的成長需要的是跨越舊疆界、踏進新天地的一張創新地圖。
而所謂成功的商業模式,是以系統化的方式,確認所有的組成元素,利用關鍵資源和關鍵流程,以能獲利的方式,建構新的顧客價值主張。從生技產業中的創新活動,可以找出這些研發創新的實例,以做為日後對新事業經營與策略規劃最好的參考。
Taiwan has been suffering the most serious economic downturn during the global financial crisis. The electronic industry is forced to face the most rigorous transformation in the past 3 decades.
Master on global future trends Stan Davis predicted that biotechnology will play a dominant role in the future 2 decades. Taiwan government also listed biotechnology as one of the important developing industries and invented intensive resource to promote its growth.
The Executive Yuan announced the immediate launch of the “Biotechnology Takeoff Package” and is planning the creation of a large biotechnology venture capital fund of NT$60 billion which will jointly formed by the government and the private sector. The takeoff package includes, establishing a biotechnology venture capital fund, promoting an integrated incubation mechanism, and creating the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA). It is expected that the industry’s annual production value will double within the next four years, rapidly making it a “trillion dollar industry”.
Biotechnology companies with outstanding technology and innovative management have arisen through the development in the past decade. Economic cooperation between Taiwan and China is becoming closer due to the open of “Three Direct Links" across the Taiwan Straits. The development of domestic biotechnological industry would be beneficial in terms of environment and chance from the superior personnel, lower productive cost than that of Europe and the US, and the huge hinterland of China
This study aimed at investigating the innovative activities of biotechnology companies, which considered thoroughly the demand of market and applied their own specific technique and resource to develop products of highly-integrated function. They are more active in the market than their traditional competitors thanks to their highly-specific and effective products.
It is the beginning of disruptive innovation when enterprises apply the same R&D technological concept to different market. Whereas extending the products to multi-level and multi-functional support belongs to field of application innovation. In order to grow continuously, the enterprise needs an innovation map to lead them to cross from the conventional boundary to a new innovation realm.
