跨國電廠統包工程專案管理的最終目標是如期、如質、如預算，成功達成合約主要里程碑及合約商轉日，免除逾期違約罰款的風險。然而，因其涉及的範圍甚為廣泛，相關介面不但多而且複雜，專案執行過程中更充滿各種不可預期的內、外部環境的變化，因而可能造成工程進度有所延誤，故專案經理與團隊成員須動用各種相關資源的投入與整合，以消除時程延遲的風險。
本個案研究以馬來西亞Kimanis 複循環電廠統包工程為例進行個案研究，探討跨國電廠統包工程在執行過程中可能導致時程延誤的情境。針對這些情境，專案團隊如何檢討問題發生的原因，及時採取適當的因應對策，以及相關管理理論的分析與應用。
本個案研究探討的管理理論分別為溝通管理、衝突管理、激勵理論、目標管理及路徑-目標理論等。

The ultimate goal of the project management of multinational power plant turnkey projects is to successfully achieve the major contract milestones and contractual commercial operation dates on time, on quality and on budget to avoid the risk of delay penalties. However, during the project execution process, the project progress may be delayed consequentially due to extensive scope of the project, many complex interfaces involved, and unforeseeable internal and external environmental changes. Therefore, project manager and project team members have to well acquire and integrate related necessary resources to eliminate the impact to the project progress.
In this case study, the Kimanis combined cycle power plant turnkey project in Malaysia was used as an example to investigate the possible situations that may cause schedule delays during the implementation of a multinational power plant turnkey project. The project manager and project team members not only explored the causes of these situations, but also took appropriate countermeasures to solve the problems and difficulties faced in a timely manner.
The management theories explored in this case study are communication management, conflict management, motivation theory, management by objective, and path-goal theory.
