This study primarily explores the application of fictional design methods in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), aiming to create immersive fictional experiences for everyday continuous experiences. Previous related research has been constrained by technological limitations, and the interaction in fictional design often relies on conceptualized imagination of participants rather than firsthand experiences of emerging possible worlds. Moreover, these studies are often confined to workshops, lacking interactive experiences in daily life, making these experiential phenomena tend to be momentary, and the subsequent impact on participants becomes invisible.
Therefore, this study leverages artificial intelligence and personal data to co-create a fictional interactive system called AlterConnect. The AlterSelf in AlterConnect engages participants with diary and dream exchanges on Instagram. The research findings indicate that participants can generate emotional resonance, psychological transformations, and behavioral changes through interaction, further revealing the significance and impact of fictional experiences in this study. Ultimately, the main contribution of this study is proposing a fictional design that can be experienced in daily life and demonstrating how such fictional design can induce transformations and influences on individuals.
