Firm who seeks growth opportunities will make an attempt to enter international market. However international market is not that easy to enter, there will be many different aspects to consider before entering it, such as business regulation, political issues, and cultural issues. Firms need to choose the right international strategy to compete and become success in international markets.
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the international strategy used by Acer Inc., a Taiwanese multinational hardware and electronic corporation. This company was rank as the 4th as the largest personal computer vendor in 2013. This thesis will analyze the successful international strategy used by Acer Inc. in competing in international markets and competitive advantages gained from it.
Acer decided to pursue global international strategy in gaining the advantage of economies of scale and to reduce the operating costs. And for most of its international expansion, the company chose strategic alliance with local companies to know more about the local market condition.
