  • 在電腦運算技術的革新下,設計師與電腦的角色產生轉變,透過「運算」能激發出創新的想法,提升效率,在部分的造型能力甚至超越設計師。優化運算是系統內計算結構輕量化的指令,可同時考量製造方式與材料限制。本研究將衍生設計的拓撲優化法應用於椅子設計,選擇三張既有的經典椅進行再設計,包括:Panton Chair (Verner Panton, 1959), The Little Albert (Ron Arad, 2002), Cork Chair (Jasper Morrison, 2004)。使用Fusion360 Generative Design及Rhino Grasshopper兩個軟體作靜力的優化分析。過程中嘗試不同的分件形式,以產生出多種樹枝狀造型語彙的結果;除了探索如何利用拓樸優化產生可行的造型之外,亦從中選擇較滿意的造型,使用subD方式修改;最後,將優化分析前中後的過程完整記錄整理成標準程序,讓日後應用優化分析於設計時,有案例可循。


    With the innovation of computing technology, the role of designers and computers have changed. Computation can simulate innovative ideas, while efficiency can be improved. In given circumstance, the design ability of computers to handle more aspects of design process than designers. Topology optimization is one of the most competent computation design that can identify the strongest structure with the least weight cost. It can caculate the constraint and concerns of both manufacturing and material at the same time. This study utilizes the topology optimization method of generative design to re-design chairs. The three models this study uses are Panton Chair (by Verner Panton, 1959), The Little Albert (by Ron Arad, 2002), Cork Chair (by Jasper Morrison, 2004). Static optimization analysis is conducted in Fusion360 Generative Design and Rhino Grasshopper. During the process, the geometry division is changed to test out different iteration results, which all comes in the shape of tree brunches. In addition to the exploration on various potential shapes suggested by Topology Optimization results, those relatively satisfying in aesthetic are then selected to be “re-shaped” with subD. Last but not least, this study keeps a complete records of optimization analysis and transcribes it into standard problems procedures. Therefore, it intends to provide case studies for future reference on optimization analysis.
