Recently, enterprises have increasingly used atypical employment to reduce costs, to enhance competitive abilities and also to fulfill the need of “workforce flexibility.” To acquire more information about contingent employment, which is also a type of atypical employment, this study investigates contingent employees by using web questionnaire.
This study categorizes contingent employees into two groups and examine the extent to which the two exhibit different job behaviors and job attitudes. The research findings found that the two groups are different in pay satisfaction, benefit satisfaction and job performance. However, the results show no differences in job satisfaction, affective organizational commitment, and employee deviant behavior.
