本創作研究，擷取西方平面設計中的網格系統原理，結合中國傳統書法之書寫結構與精髓，發展出具脈絡意義且適合漢字設計之網格，進行漢字字體設計創作與研究。
在研究面，以書道發展為起點，透過文本分析法解析書法藝術中隸書、行書剛柔和一的美感及其特有之書寫架構，作為本創作研究表現手法的重要根據，並參考現代編排設計中網格系統的觀念，植入漢字字體設計之中。
創作面，藉由歸納隸書與行書之書寫結構與特色，嘗試設計出一套極符合漢字設計的格式系統，利用視覺傳達設計手法，將西方近代平面設計中的網格系統原理，融合傳統書道美學，乘著規劃有序的網格系統，發展出自由靈活的漢字設計。讓感性的漢字躍然於嚴謹而理性的網格之上，創造出融合今昔、東西方的藝術美學和設計理論的新體漢字設計。
為了使漢字跳脫向來靜態的、平面的、侷限於空間內部的欣賞模式，遂將網格漢字實體化，融入現實生活之中，發展出不同的觀賞與閱讀方式，使之成為結合傳統藝術與現代設計、理性與感性、平面與實體空間的總和體驗，強化網格系統下漢字的視覺震撼力，讓觀者投身語言的懷抱，並因此展開對漢字的重新認識和全新體驗。

Combining the grid system theory from western graphic design and the essence of traditional Chinese calligraphy, this research crafts contextualized grids that are suitable for Chinese characters.
Starting from the development of Chinese calligraphy, the aesthetic perception about ‘Couple Hardness with Softness’ and the unique skeleton in clerical script and running script are analyzed by textbook analysis research method. Both of them, as the primary basis of this research, are applied to the Chinese character design, referencing the grid system concept from modern layout design.
Generalizing the calligraphy structure and the distinguishing features of clerical script and running script, a full set of grid system is designed for Chinese characters. With the visual communication design technique, the Chinese characters have evolved to be more elastic due to the scheme of the grid system set. In order to make Chinese characters jump off the viewing modes which is used to be static, two-dimensional, and restricted inside the frame, the applied Chinese characters is then materialized in real world. This innovative way of viewing creates a rich experience, which includes the combination of traditional arts and modern design, sense and sensibility, graphics and space. Hence, with the emphasis of the visual shock under grid system, viewers are introduced to embrace the language and to have a new understanding about Chinese characters.
