本研究以目前產業界熱門的六標準差設計(Design for Six Sigma; DFSS)為題,探討六標差設計的基礎概念及其推行架構,並輔以個案討論,希望從中了解企業在導入六標準差設計後,對於產品設計品質的提昇與內外部失敗成本的預防,是否有其顯著效果,本研究結果並可對於即將投入或已逐步建置六標準差設計於新產品開發流程的企業提供適當的建議。
首先,本研究將探討六標準差設計(DFSS)之基本概念與六標準差專案(Six Sigma)的差異以及企業在推行六標準差設計可以獲致的預期效益與成功要素。另外並將介紹六標準差設計各主要階段DMADV:定義(Define)、衡量(Measure)、分析(Analyze)、設計(Design)、驗證(Verify)之重要概念與手法,最後本研究將探討個案A公司在導入六標準差設計於無線通訊局端設備之產品開發流程實證討論。藉由本實證研究顯示,個案A公司在導入六標準差設計後,其所開發的無線通訊局端設備,除取得多項產品新專利外,其所設計開發之產品亦較未導入六標準差設計前,擁有較一致之品質水準與大幅降低相關品質失敗成本;而推行時的經驗,將有助於後續產業在導入六標準差設計時可做為參考。
DFSS(Design for Six Sigma) is a powerful and most popular process improvement tool in the world. In this paper, we attempt to use DFSS as topic to introduce the basic concept of DFSS and discuss how it’s work in business field. Moreover, we will bring up a case study to identify if firms have obviously improvement in design quality or reduce the internal and external failure cost of quality through DFSS. Hope this paper can provide some of references to firms who are planning to introduce DFSS in near future.
First, we will introduce the basic concept of DFSS and find the discrepancies between Six Sigma and DFSS(Design for Six Sigma), and then we will point out what are the benefits and key elements for leading a successful DFSS project. In addition, we will introduce the tools and methodologies of five major stages for DFSS, that is D(Define), M(Measure), A(Analyze), D(Design)and V(Verify). Finally, we will discuss the case which implement DFSS in their product development process of Centre Office Equipment(COE). From this case study, we could found that “A” company obtains the consistent quality level and reduce a lot of failure costs of quality by introducing DFSS. And some of patents were also discovered by this project. The conclusion shows that the methodologies for DFSS are enormous and it is suitable for many companies.
