自早年台商西進大陸的風潮,二極體作為半導體產業的基礎元件,台商為了成本與競爭力的考慮,整個產業逐漸外移至中國,而後更由於市場的考量,陸續將研發、採購重心轉移至當地。不可諱言,由於二極體產品的進入技術門檻較低,在歷經二十多年的發展,中國二極體產業,紅色供應鏈的崛起已經相當程度的擠壓台商的生存空間;另一方面,在幾家國際整合元件製造商 (Integrated Device Manufacturing,簡稱 IDM ) 大廠可以藉著核心技術領先,掌握高階應用與高毛利市場份額下,台商如何在外商與陸資企業的競爭下,清楚自己的經營策略與市場定位,變成每家台灣二極體廠商生存的重大課題。
德微科技同樣面臨這樣的挑戰與困境,其創辦人張恩傑董事長,秉持著創業家精神,分析整體大環境的趨勢,清楚了解企業必須轉型,才能在潮流中不被淘汰,甚至異軍突起,成為市場的領頭羊。而在內外的壓力之下,管理階層如何建立新的競爭優勢、同時說服員工能夠一起努力、攜手共進來迎向挑戰與改變。德微科技的案例中,關於管理跟決策的過程,無疑有一些值得思考與借鏡的地方。
From the early trend of Taiwanese businesses moving westward to mainland China, as the foundation component of the semiconductor industry, diodes have gradually moved offshore to China as a whole industry, with Taiwanese businesses considering cost and competitiveness. Later, due to market considerations, they also shifted their R&D and procurement focus to the local area. Undeniably, due to the low entry barrier of diode technology, after over 20 years’ development, the rise of the red supply chain by China's diode industry has squeezed the living space of Taiwan-based companies businesses to a considerable extent. On the other hand, as to those worldwide foreign-owned IDM (Integrated Device Manufacturing) companies, with the advantage of leading core technology, they are able to dominate the high-end applications and high-margin market share. Therefore, for Taiwanese companies, how to clearly define their business strategy and market positioning in the competition with foreign and mainland-funded enterprises has become a major issue for each company's survival.
In the face of such challenges and difficulties, the founder and chairman of Eris Technology, En-Jie Chang, upheld the entrepreneurial spirit, analyzed the overall trend of the environment, and clearly understood that the company must transform in order to not be eliminated by the trend and even emerge as a market leader. Under internal and external pressures, how can the management review own competitive strategy and also convince employees to work together and advance together to face challenges and changes? In the case of Eris Technology, there should be some aspects of management and decision-making processes that are worth thinking about and learning from.
