本個案描述陳凱翔先生創辦「四十分之一移工教育文化協會」(One-Forty) 非營利 組織,並以新創 NPO 自居,透過品牌營造、數位學習及線上與線下的教育培力過程, 幫助如今人數已經超過 70 萬人,但卻是非常重要的台灣基層勞動力的東南亞移工。期 望透過「教育」改變過去貧窮的循環,讓他們不需要再離鄉背景去到國外工作,反而 能夠在母國,不但可以與家人生活在一起,更能夠有一技之長以維持生計。
陳凱翔認為 NPO 也可以經營的非常新創、歡樂且溫暖,因此他運用過去的企業管 理學習經驗,和前往國外 NGO 組織工作的經驗,結合手上的人脈、關係與資源,推出 「One-Forty」這個品牌,並推動移工人生學校、東南亞星期天、移工故事頻道等活動 計劃,透過 YouTube、IG、Facebook 等社群媒體,凝聚及吸引東南亞移工參與活動。 另一方面,One-Forty 也舉辦多場大型展覽活動,並進一步與企業合作,包括結合移工 生活的行銷廣告、職工的媒合、技能養成與提升等,翻轉社會大眾對東南亞移工的刻 板印象,促進社會和解。
本個案以哈佛個案方式撰寫,進行教授及討論品牌行銷、資源拼湊、組織靈巧性 及社會影響力等相關議題,並透過個案探討,進一步了解 NPO 組織對社會的貢獻。
This case describes Mr. Chen Kai-Xiang's founding of the One-Forty Educational and Cultural Association (One-Forty), a nonprofit organization, and his self-styled start-up NPO. Through branding, digital learning, and online and offline educational nurturing processes, he has helped over 700,000 people today, but is a very important part of Taiwan's grassroots migrant workforce in Southeast Asia. It is hoped that through "education", the cycle of poverty will be changed, so that they no longer need to leave their hometown to work abroad but cannot only live with their families in their home country, but also have a skill to make a living.
Chen, Kai-Xiang believes that NPOs can also operate in a very innovative, happy and warm way. Therefore, he leveraged his past experience in study of enterprise management and working experience in foreign NGOs, as well as his personal connections, and then launched “One-Forty" - an innovative NPO brand. “One-Forty” rolled out three programs to attract Southeast Asia migrant workers, such as “Migrant Life School”, “Southeast Asia Sunday” and “Migrant Story Channel”, and through social media like YouTube, Instagram and Facebook to promote their activities. Meanwhile, “One-Forty” also held several large-scale exhibitions, and further cooperation with enterprises, there are including microfilm advertisement, career matching, skills improvement...etc. Turning the stereotype of Southeast Asia migrant workers and facilitating social reconciliation.
Written as a Harvard case study, this case teaches and discusses issues related to brand marketing, piecing together resources, organizational dexterity, and social impact, and through the case study, we further understand the contribution of NPO organizations to society.
