While Web service models become increasingly popular and many service pro-viders start to offer all kinds of Web services, the quality of service (QoS) of Web ser-vices has become an important factor for service requesters to consider during the se-lection process of appropriate Web services. However, Web service brokers and other kinds of intermediaries in the current Web service architecture do not support QoS matchmaking mechanisms.
In our research study, we present an evaluation and selection model for Web ser-vices to resolve the QoS matchmaking problem. The main purpose of our model is to support service requesters to select suitable Web services based on the QoS re-quirements from requesters and trustworthiness of Web services candidates. To achieve this goal, in our service architecture we propose a novel mechanism to moni-tor and evaluate from request clients the physical usage condition of Web services and invent computation formulas for Web services reputation.
