過往有研究顯示外表吸引力影響了日常生活和人際互動,高外表吸引力的人,工作能力及人際關係都比較好,且有吸引力的人更有可能在他們的生涯中取得成功,但COVID-19大流行病的關係,全球開始廣泛的佩戴口罩,自此,便開啟了口罩遮住臉部的隔閡。

本研究欲探討疫情期間人們佩戴口罩後對外表吸引力和人際知覺之間的影響。本研究的研究問題為,佩戴口罩後,對一個人的印象形成從何而來。外表吸引力和人際知覺是因為什麼樣的因素而產生變化,是否因為佩戴口罩而提升或降低對人的好感度。進而影響佩戴口罩的人,用不同的技巧去突顯個人風格。

本研究採用訪談法,藉由深度訪談分析13名來自不同領域的受訪者,了解受訪者使用口罩的經驗並分析受訪者對於疫情期間佩戴口罩的人,在人際知覺的影響。研究結果發現,佩戴口罩時人與人之間的溝通不但會變得困難,且需要花更長的時間去認識和了解一個人,也分析出當佩戴口罩時,愉快的眼神即能提高印象形成的好感度、穿著打扮和服裝儀容的整潔度可以彌補口罩遮擋住臉部表情之後的劣勢。


Physical attractiveness played an important role in daily human social interaction according to the past relative research experience, possessed high score of physical attracting people resulted in better working ability and people relationship even having higher possibility to get success in their live.
However, due to the pandemic of COVID-19, wearing face mask had become an essential thing even a law regulation in certain country over the world, which had triggered the effects of face covering issue when people wearing face mask.
The study explored to the effects of people wearing face masks on physical attractiveness and interpersonal perceptions in times of COVID-19. The core issue of the study was to research what kind of trait formed certain impression formation what making changed of physical attractiveness and interpersonal perceptions, what did it increase or reduce the likability when wearing face mask and even retriggered people tend to show their personality.

The interview method was what implemented in this study, via interviewing with different working filed people to understand their experience of wearing face mask during the pandemic and analysis their point of view of the effects on interpersonal perceptions. The result of this study found that the covering of wearing face mask had become an obstacle in interpersonal communication and a certain difficulty to recognize and get to know a person. what’s more, this study found that a pleasant eyes contact can increase the favorability of impression formation and moreover the cleanliness of dressing and clothing improved the disadvantage of masks covering facial expressions.
