This study mainly investigates the determinants of services trade in computer and information services and royalties and license fees from 42 countries, during the period from 2006 to 2012. The study utilizes the augmented spatial gravity model and employs the Breusch-Pagan LM test, the Hausman test and the Over-identification test of the Hausamn-Taylor to choose the appropriate empirical method. The empirical result reveals several key findings as follows. First, the obvious home market effect and host market effect exist in computer and information services and importing country regards the computer and information services as luxury goods. Second, computer and information services and royalties and license fees are regarded as R&D-intensive services, so that the ICT infrastructure, including Internet use and e-readiness, as well as R&D expenditure, clearly strengthens exports of both services. Third, according to the negative impact of market potential, computer and information services prefer direct exports to the destination due to their virtual and invisible characteristics. Finally, financial crisis increases the demand for the computer and information services.
