Metro World Child is an international, faith-based humanitarian organization.
It started in New York and is dedicated to serving children in slums in New York and around the world. Through children's Sunday school gatherings, funding programs, after-school activities, special programs, and individual relationship-oriented family visits, it serves nearly 250,000 children around the world every week.
Metro World Child was founded in 1980 by Pastor Bill Wilson. For more than forty years, they have worked hard to help children who are physically and mentally injured, and teach them through the message of love and salvation, build their lives and bring about change. Encourage them to continue to school, stay away from the gangs, various sabotage and criminal behaviors that are common in slums, and strive to meet the spiritual and physical needs of children through one-by-one long-term care for children, funding programs and visits, and strive to meet children's spiritual and physical needs.
Metro World Child is headquartered in the center of Brooklyn, New York, USA. It currently has more than 250 locations in New York City, and various courses are held at the same time every week. At the same time, the world is already operating in the same ministry model in thirteen countries including the Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Kenya and India.
The mission of Metro World Child is to give hope and build the future, especially for children living in the adversity of the metropolis. Regardless of the physical impact of poverty or the dangers of gangs, violence, abuse, and despair, they see that through Christian faith and life teaching, the lives of children can be changed and their lives can be built on a new path. Meeting the children where they are, build relationships with them through companionship and teaching, personally invest in their lives, influence them in a fun and receptive way and bring out the good news of the gospel, and make them believe that they can be built The new foundation will bring children from all over the world to a promising future and a better life.
Metro World Child uses different modes of ministry and operation methods to achieve their goals. Through holding weekly Sunday school, summer camps and personal guidance in the area where the children live, it helps the children experience the hope and love of Christ. Through continuous one-by-one relationships, weekly family visits and child support programs, we personally invest in the lives of the children we serve, and strive to meet the basic needs that hinder the growth of the body, mind, and spirit, such as school supplies, coats, food, and clean supplies. water.
"Roadside Sunday School" was also founded by Pastor Bill. He moved the Sunday school meetings that are usually in the church to the streets, and even converted a truck into a mobile church platform. He drove there and shared information with children there. Many children's hearts. This kind of gospel action has also affected many countries, focusing on street, disadvantaged, and grassroots children.
Pastor Bill insists on doing something for the children in need. He always believes that the family is the place that has the greatest impact on the children. Therefore, building children is building the family of the future. Although he is over seventy years old, he still drives the bus to pick up the children. Participating in Sunday school, caring and teaching disadvantaged children, and giving them hope for the future; encountered countless difficulties, but insisted on going forward and never backed down; he can also disregard his own safety and bravely rescue him in a crisis no matter what He also flew to various places to share the call of vision and call on the community to join in the action; he brought hope to the world and lived out real influence.
