In the competitive circumstances for the past few years, firms have adopted ERP systems to enhance their business processes for more competitive advantages; however, most of them did not succeed. Research indicates that one of the main causes of failure is the resistance of users. This thesis discusses the acts of the ERP system users with Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) through a sampling survey. In addition, this research enhances the defining ability of the original model integrating the aspect of trust and examines the relation between trust and users’ intention to use ERP systems.
This research finds that Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy and Trust have significant influence on the intention to use ERP systems. Besides, Effort Expectancy has a great influence on Performance Expectancy. Therefore, managers are suggested to improve the users’ cognition for Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy and Trust of ERP systems to decrease the users’ resistance and increase their intention. This will help firms establish successful ERP systems.
