In recent years, slope disasters have become a critical issue for infrastructure protection. They can be caused by the earthquakes, rainfall, and other human activities. This study discusses slope disturbance induced by earthquakes. All the analyses were conducted using RS2 software version 9.0. It is based on the finite element theory. This study is expected to explore the possible time of the slope’s failure. According to previous studies, the Hoek-Brown failure criterion provides better rock slope stability estimations than the conventional Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion. So this study uses the Hoek-Brown failure criterion. In addition, this study also adopts the traditional Newmark and the enhanced Newmark methods to investigate the possible time of slope failure. Finally, this study uses the Daguangbao landslide caused by the Wenchuan earthquake to discuss the results from different methods.
