Pyrene
Stylbene
The best efficiency blue dopant emitting material should belong to Stylbene
derivatives manufactured from Idemitsu company﹒But actually﹐we found which
will decompose easily after thin film evaporation that affected the yield rate of
OLED product﹒
So we designed a material possessed better thermal property and high quantum
efficiency to improve lifetime issues﹒We select Pyrene molecular as the phosphor
core which also get more rigid molecular property and high quantum efficiency ﹐
it is suitable as the blue dopant material﹒Pyrene derivative are easier to synthesize﹒
The thermal property (Tm~295.66℃) is 55℃ higher than stylbene
derivative(Tm~240.67℃) and the thin film evaporation temperature(280℃) is
lower than stylbene derivative (335℃)﹒We can verify a good result from
experiment﹐ Pyrene derivative device under 6V and 10000nits﹐the lifetime of
Pyrene was improved 5 times to 100hrs longer compared with that of stylbene
derivative﹒The efficiency was also improved 1.5 times from 6.5cd/A to 9.9 cd/A﹒
We take the advantage of methyl(-CH3) donor effect by different position on
benzene to adjust material’s emitting CIEx,y﹐ Such a Pyrene derivative can be
applied to blue emitting materials﹒
We can conclude some factors from our experiments which influence the device
lifetime and efficiency performance﹒ They are
(1). Emitting material of thermal property﹒
(2). HOMO/LUMO arrangement between thin film﹒
(3). The difference of HOMO value between ITO to HTL﹒(If insert a lower
HOMO layer of HIL to ITO & HTL which can improve lifetime of device as
well﹒)
