創作者下鄉與多位工藝匠師學習傳統工藝技術與器物製造知識，在學習過程中，發現許多隱藏於老器物製作過程中的造物智慧，是如此迷人與珍貴，但因這些器物於現代受新材料與技術的衝擊、人的生活需求與價值觀改變等因素，已顯得不合時宜，器物不再被需要，而藏與其中的造物智慧，也隨著器物一同消逝。

　　創作者認為這些造物智慧實在珍貴，不捨它們就此從生活中消失，除了收藏於博物館和文史資料之外，尚且充滿諸多走入現代生活的可能性與價值，有感於此，創作者便下鄉進行更多學習，主張以親手製作的方式來獲取訊息。過程中，將眾多細瑣的製造訊息以圖文製作成影像紀錄，並以形狀、材料、方法三種層次進行解離，藉此更清楚純粹地審視其中的造物智慧。

　　在基於擁有這些造物智慧做為創作要素後，創作者以設計專長，嘗試進行新的應用可能。本論文以竹管椅凳、蒸籠、蒔田管、竹管櫥櫃門這四項傳統器物進行學習與紀錄，創作桌鏡、盤子、置物架三件作品為成果案例，並藉由這些創作經驗，歸納出一種將傳統造物智慧應用於新設計的創作手法，期許讓這些老智慧重新被看見、使用、珍視。

The creator went to the countryside to learn traditional craft techniques and the knowledge of artifact manufacture from several craftsmen. He found out that the intelligence hidden in the manufacture of ancient artifacts was really astonishing and precious. However, these artifacts are being out of keeping with the times and no longer needed due to the creation of new materials and technologies as well as the changes of human needs and values.

The creator think that the intelligence of manufacture is too precious to fall away. It not only deserves to be preserved in museums and recorded in historical literature, but also possesses more possibilities and values that are closer to modern life. Therefore, the creator went to the countryside for further learning, and advocate obtaining messages from the manufacture with their own hands. During the process of the research, many complicated manufacturing messages are produced as graphic records and dissociated at the level of shape, material and method, so as to inspect the intelligence more clearly.

Based on the intelligence for the elements of creation, the creators aim to figure out new application possibilities through their specialties of industrial design. With the anticipation to regain the attention, usage, and respect of the ancient intelligence, this research induced a technology of applying traditional manufacturing intelligence to modern designs from the experiences of the creation a table mirror, a plate, and a shelf with the learning basis of the bamboo culm chair, the steamer, the finger tube, and the bamboo culm cabinet door.
