The piezocone penetration test (CPTu) is an excellent method for site
investigation, that can determine geotechnical parameters correct and
effective cost. This study select CPTu data among eight different river basins
compare the labor soil classification test result from sampling next to CPTu
location. There are four different soil classification charts to be evaluated
within this research scope. Based on the results, the effective cone
resistances qE classification chart by Eslami and Fellenius(1997) provided
the most accurate classification. The next most accurate procedure was the
pore pressure ratio based normalization chart by Robertson(1986). The
Begemann method was the last accurate but could be modified to fit local
application easily.
