人類世指的是全球現代人類活動對地質和環境所帶來的深層改變,有望成為新的地質紀元。儘管尚未得到地質學正式承認,但廣泛的討論表明其具有跨學科性質,對未來產生深遠影響,並為各領域提供新的思考框架。本創作《浮生記號》以人類世為背景,旨在探討人類活動對地貌所帶來的深刻變化,特別聚焦於農業與礦業在土地上留下的文明軌跡、難以降解的人造物質形成的科技化石,以及隨著工業發展而普及的都市化現象,並由此發展與之對應的《脈動》、《渦流》和《餘響》三項系列創作子題,呈現人類對環境進行塑造和改變的過程。此外,也將語言哲學中對後現代的關懷引入,以現代理性觀點的語言指涉為起點,並延伸至文字在排版空間方面對想像力的影響。透過對於國內外漢字圖像詩的深入分析,深化自身對於文字形式與內涵之掌握,作為後續創作之依據。在視覺創作方面,本創作以非自然物件的皺褶與損壞痕跡為主要靈感,對其進行視覺上的線條抽取,並以鉛字打印作為偶然性的視覺實驗,在創作成果中作為特定文字的排佈依歸。以此展示人類活動對地貌產生的影響,同時呈現人們對於自然的現代性詮釋。


The Anthropocene refers to profound changes in the Earth's geology and environment caused by modern human activities, potentially marking a new geological epoch. Although not officially recognized by geology, extensive discussions suggest its interdisciplinary nature, with far-reaching implications for the future and providing new frameworks for various fields. This artistic creation, "Markings of Life," is set against the backdrop of the Anthropocene, aiming to explore the profound changes in the landscape brought about by human activities. It particularly focuses on the civilization traces left by agriculture and mining on the land, the technofossils formed by non-degradable artificial materials, and the urbanization phenomenon widespread with industrial development. Three sub-themes, "Pulsation," "Whirlpool," and "Resonance," are developed to depict the process of humans shaping and altering the environment. Additionally, the thesis incorporates concerns from linguistic philosophy regarding postmodernity, starting from the linguistic reference of modern rational perspectives and extending to the impact of typography on imagination within layout spaces. Through in-depth analysis of Chinese concrete poetry domestically and internationally, the research aims to deepen understanding of the mastery of textual forms and content as a basis for subsequent creations. In terms of visual creation, the project draws inspiration from the folds and damage marks of non-natural objects, extracting their outlines. It utilizes letterpress printing as a fortuitous experimental visual element, serving as the starting point for the layout of specific texts in the creative outcome. This creation showcases the impact of human activities on the landscape whilst interprets nature with modernity.
