汽車,是乘載用的交通工具,亦是一具有速度感的產品。故其動態意象的造形表現成為汽車外觀設計的重要因素之一。而在空氣污染及能源危機的影響下,小型車的經濟環保價值廣受消費者的青睞。本研究希望經由探討汽車動態感及意象風格,嘗試將動態感及意象風格融入小型車,讓小型車能擴大其接受度,超出傳統女性市場,延續汽車於現今環保節能的綠色價值。
本研究主要針對因追求速度之極限而被視為動態感代表的跑車作為探討造形意象與喜好度之關係的表現形式。首先,透過文獻分析汽車造形之設計手法,並藉由感性意象空間作為造形風格的研究方法,接著透過深度訪談汽車設計師及參與本實驗之設計背景人士的觀點,探討汽車的造形特徵元素之動態意象與風格的表現形式。最後,將之與小型車結合。
本研究主要具體之成果包括:動態意象的造形表現主要是強調車身輪廓與面體的外觀設計,其非平衡的視覺為汽車表現速度感之方向性的必要手法;傳統意象之造形則是重新詮釋消費者對於過去之經典汽車的記憶。此外,本研究運用感性意象空間進行調查,可知設計與非設計背景人士對於造形之動態意象較強烈的車形,均有偏好;但非設計背景人士,其喜好度在達到最高值(最佳動態感)之後開始降低;而設計背景人士,其喜好度則隨動態意象增高,其喜好度也越高。
A car is not only a form of transportation, but also a statement of self expression. The dynamic image conveyed by a car has been one of the main trends in its appearance design. Under the increasing threat of air pollution and energy crises, the value of environmental protection offered by the smaller sizes of hatchbacks has been widely favored by customers. In this research, we hope to develop a systematic for integrating the dynamic image of sport cars into hatchbacks, to increase their acceptance beyond the traditional female consumers.
This research aims to understand the relationship between the appearance of sport cars, which pursue the ultimate speed and seek to convey a dynamic image, and consumers' preferences. First, a literature review was conducted to analyze the techniques for car appearance design. Then, car designers were interviewed to extract the design features commonly employed to convey a dynamic image. Using car photos as stimuli, a survey was conducted to understand the relationship between the appearance of sport cars and user preferences. Finally, these outcomes were combined to embed a dynamic style into hatchbacks.
It is found that a dynamic image is achieved by emphasizing the body profile and the surface facets. In particular, inclining lines in the side view is the main technique to convey sportiness. On the other hand, a traditional image is achieved by re-interpreting customers' memories of classic cars. In addition, it is found that, although both designers and general consumers show a preference for cars with dynamic images, their preferences differ: whereas the general consumers’ preference for dynamicness decline after a certain maximum value, the designers’ preference continue to increase as the car becomes more dynamic without decline for the test stimuli.
