This study aims to investigate the creative city of design indicators used by UNESCO in terms of the creative city of design development in Medan City and propose the use of a multi-criteria method called the Analytical Hierarchy Process to select the best indicator option for Medan City as a creative city of design. The methodology of this study consists of searching for the creative city of design indicators, which worked as alternatives for applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The searching results analysis suggests that there are 15 indicators in the development of a creative city of design which are divided into three groups (social, economic, and design & development). The results of the Analytical Hierarchy Process show that human-oriented (0.77) is the highest priority factor in the social field, design trade fair (1.75) is the highest priority factor in the economic field, and city development (3.37) is the priority factor in the field of design and development. The findings assist the stakeholder to address the most priority success factors to successfully implement the creative city of design concept.
