Morphological and functional biological changes are the main challenges associated with rapid aging population growth. The decrease of elderly physical ability increases the duration of sitting significantly. Consequently, to make a chair design as a seating tool tailored to an individual’s needs is very important. However, chair design does not provide the use on a portable basis; thus, the seat pad design is preferred for mobile use. On the other hand, the seat pad design is only focused on the buttock part and is not extensively concerned with the whole body parts consideration. The purpose of this study is to improve a more comprehensive seat pad design to promote good seating in various kinds of chairs with broader consideration, such as the voice of customers, ergonomic principles, and expert judgment. The subject of this study is the Indonesian and Taiwanese elderly as two of the countries that have a large number and percentage of elderly. The methods used in this study are Quality Function Deployment (QFD) as the framework to capture the design elements, Kansei Engineering to apprehend Customer Requirements, and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the Customer Requirement importance. The result shows the Customer Requirements for this study are: “Comfortable”, “Practical”, “Portable”, “Good material quality”, “Multifunction”, “Affordable”, “Safe”, and “Flexible”. The Technical Requirements for the seat pad are “Shape/Form”, “Color”, “Pattern”, “Material”, “Price”, “Size”, and “Feature”. The functions added to the proposed design are seating pad, backrest, calf support, lumbar support, multifunction gait belt, and additional pocket. This study concludes that QFD, Kansei Engineering, and AHP are successfully applied to improve a seat pad design more comprehensively. Overall, the result of the Wilcoxon-signed test shows that the respondents felt satisfied with the proposed design since the result shows that “Comfortable”, “Good Material quality”, “Multifunction”, “Unique design”, “Safe”, and “Practical” are better and have significant differences with the old design. Meanwhile, the “Affordable” requirement of the proposed design is not satisfied by the respondents.
