2020 年全球新冠肺炎病毒的爆發,嚴重影響人們的生活習慣,其中也改變支付方式如減少接觸的電子支付,並使用指紋辨識以進行身分驗證,由於需求的提升也使指紋傳感器的全球市場規模大幅增長。而指紋辨識發展歷史悠久,指紋傳感器之技術主要分成電容式、光學式及超音波式。本研究將利用技術方式進行區分,進而建構有關指紋傳感器的專利地圖,以提供廠商在未來進入市場時開發產品的研發方向。
本研究以美國專利商標局的專利公開案作為分析標的,透過專利檢索、專利資料分析的方法進行研究並整理成圖表,包含整體趨勢分析、主要合作分類號分析、主要申請人分析、前十大專利引證分析。
本研究發現與指紋相關之國際分類號(IPC)將重新進行分類,與指紋傳感器最相關之合作分類號(CPC)為G06V40/13及其以下五階分類號,並發現自2012年起專利申請量大幅上升至2019年逐漸趨緩,處於技術成熟期。主要申請人包含指紋辨識傳感器廠商、手機廠商、面板廠商等,並以國籍為中國的專利申請人最多。以技術區分有關光學式專利件數最多,與屏下指紋技術相關元件OLED、LCD顯示面板多與光學式指紋辨識進行專利申請。
The COVID-19 outbreak in 2020 has seriously affected people's living habits. Among them, payment methods have also been changed, such as using electronic payment to reduces contact, and fingerprint recognition is used for identity verification. Due to the increase in demand, the global market size of fingerprint sensors has also increased significantly. The development of fingerprint recognition has a long history, and the technology of fingerprint sensor is mainly divided into capacitive, optical and ultrasonic. This study will differentiate by technical means, and then construct a patent map of fingerprint sensors, so as to provide research and development directions for manufacturers to develop products when entering the market in the future.
This research takes the patent publications of the United States Patent and Trademark Office as the analysis target. We will conduct research and draw charts through the methods of patent search and patent data analysis, including overall trend analysis, main Cooperation Patent Classification(CPC) analysis, main applicant analysis, Top 10 Patent Citation Analysis.
This study found that the International Patent Classification (IPC) related to fingerprints will be reclassified, and the most relevant Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) of fingerprint sensors is G06V40/13 and the fifth-order classification code below. We also found that patent applications have been filed since 2012 The volume has risen sharply and gradually slowed down in 2019, which is in a mature technology stage. We also found that the main applicants include fingerprint recognition sensor manufacturers, mobile phone manufacturers, panel manufacturers, etc., and the patent applicants whose nationality is China is the most. In addition, the most of patents is optical technology, and the OLED and LCD display panels related to fingerprint on display technology are mostly applied for patent applications for optical fingerprint recognition.
