  • 現今的建築打破了以往方盒子的造型,有許多建築是由自由曲面所構成的,使得建築面貌千變萬化。但當前所流行的自由曲面因為每一個組成的構造都不相同,往往需要耗費很多的財力與很高的科技。故本研究嘗試著找尋另一種製作自由曲面的可能性,運用重複性,單一的尺寸與材質,透過適當的設計與排列,形成多變的曲面;ORIGAMI中的蛇腹摺正是一種可切入的方式。
    首先利用文獻探討,以及實做分析的方式,探討日本摺紙的蛇腹摺摺法之角度與曲率的關係。並參考過往之設計案例,以分析蛇腹摺運用在空間設計上的類型、材質。之後嘗試實做的方式,以模矩化並考量厚度、自重與彈性的影響,避開各元件最脆弱的點,利用各種媒材及不同接合方式,將摺紙轉化為摺版構造。並且以實地設計之方式,去探討其應用於空間設計上的各種可能。
      最後檢討其發展性、限制性及未來願景,得出結果為本研究主要為探討蛇腹摺具單一性、可摺疊性、可替換性、可預鑄性…..等特性,將其運用在空間設計上,能夠有效並經濟地做為一個曲面的構造。然目前尚有一些問題需要去克服,如室外的環境因素的影響、目前未研究出理想的鉸接、模矩化會產生接縫問題……等,但就蛇覆摺運用在空間設計上的豐富度、變化性及可行性,依舊潛力無窮。


    Nowadays, buildings are no longer like boxes , lots of them are built by freeform. It makes buildings more varied. Because each component of freeform surface is not the same, we must cost much money and used higher technology to build it. This study is tried to find another possibility of making freeform surface. We consider that the accordion fold of the origami is a feasible way. It can be used the single size and material to form varied surface through appropriate design and arrangement.
    First, we review the literature and make models to research the relationship between the angle and curvature of the accordion fold. Next, we refer to past design cases to analyze the type and material which the accordion fold be used in building and interior design. Then, we test to make models which are modular and considered the influence of the thickness, weight and flexibility. We avoid the most vulnerable point of each component, and use a variety of media and different joint methods to transform folding paper into foldable plate. After that, we design some cases to explore all possible of building and interior design.
    Finally, we review the development, restrictive, and the future vision of the accordion fold. The accordion fold has unitary、foldable、 replaceable and pre-fabricatable characteristic. It will be an economical and efficient freeform surface structure, if it be used in building and interior design. However, there are still some issues that we need to overcome, such as outdoor environmental factors, the ideal hinge is not currently developed and the module will have joint problems ... ... and so on. But the abundance、 variety and feasibility of the accordion fold used in building and interior design still has unlimited potential.
