台灣經過了1970年代末期的鄉土文學論戰以及1980年代民主化的洗禮，開始在大眾生活中興起的一波社區主義之風潮，同時引起台灣當代建築現代性與地域性之間的對話，相較於全球地域主義建築論述，台灣地域主義的特殊性為何？

本研究試圖從構築性的層面探究大藏聯合事務所落實於地域性建築當中的空間、材料及環境，並以當中已完成的得獎作品為案例，包括：西寶國小、育英國小、嘉義溪口鄉文化生活館、宜蘭五結簡宅以及雲林農博生態園區等案例。透過案例彙整、資料的分析、現場訪談以及地域性建築議題的文獻研究，以圖面分析的方式進行，進行深入的闡釋與分析。最後透過建築外觀/內部空間/表面材料與構築行為與形式手法之構築性的關係。探討大藏作品的地域性創作取向以及構築性思維與地域性思維所隱含的意涵。

研究發現大藏多以「形態」的外在與內在形式作為主要回應。而除了回應概念，大藏會藉由「材料」、「記憶」、「形態」操作上去回應場地特有的環境條件。亦會從場所面向中可閱讀到大藏的人-土地-材料三者之間所呈現的情感依存狀態及與人跟自然環境之間的協調。透過回歸到本質的思考與空間議題相關的各項元素，經由這些轉換，構成空間形式。

Following the debates over Taiwan nativist literature at the end of 1970’s and the process of democratization in the 1980’s, a trend of communitarianism emerged among the Taiwanese public. This also induced the dialogue between modernism and regionalism in the contemporary architecture of Taiwan. Compared with the global discussion of regionalism architecture, what are the unique characteristics of Taiwan’s architectural practice?

This study attempts to explore the space, materials, and environment of regionalism architecture from the perspective of tectonics in architecture and takes D.Z. Architects & Associates’ awarded works as examples, including Sibao Elementary School, Yuying Elementary School, Xikou Township Cultural Life Center, Jian Residence, and Yunlin County Agricultural Expo Ecological Park. Through case collection, data analysis, on-site interviews, and literature research on regionalism architecture topics, this study gives in-depth interpretation and analysis through architectural graphics. Finally, through the comparison between the architectural appearance / interior space / materials and tectonics behavior, and the tectonic design strategy, this study discusses the regional creative orientation and the implications of tectonic and regional thinkings of D.Z. Architects & Associates’ works.

It is found that D.Z. Architects & Associates mostly takes the ‘form’ as the response concept including external and internal meaning in their works. In addition, D.Z. responds to the unique environmental conditions of the site through the ‘materials,’ ‘memories,’ and ‘forms.’ We can also read the emotional dependence state and the harmony between people and the natural environment presented by D.Z. Architects & Associates form the aspect of ‘people-land-materials’. By returning to the essence, D.Z. Architects & Associates thinks about various elements related to space issues, and transform them into space forms.
