仿生設計的靈感不僅存在生活周遭,其精巧的構造與形態,更是經歷漫長歲月淬鍊的結果。然而在國內,由於對仿生設計的不熟悉與誤解,導致其設計價值鮮少被發揮與重視。本創作論文使用邏輯的思維方式,結合國內外仿生設計的傑出案例,提出一套可供產品設計參考的仿生流程,為現在趨向單一化的簡約風格,提出一個另類思考的可能性。
本創作論文先從論述仿生學的起源與定義開始,探討仿生學在設計與工程應用的發展方向與手法,並簡述綠色設計的概要與原則。在創作方法部分導入仿生綠色設計的概念,並加入產品語意的元素,發展出可應用於產品設計的仿生流程。
本創作論文成果以三件作品來檢視產品設計仿生綠色流程的使用性,分別為(1)水母鞋(JellyFiShoe),以生物形體拉伸形變的特質,發展出可變形膠鞋鞋款。(2)脫殼系列(Cocoon Vase),以蛻變過程導入花器設計的概念。(3)珊瑚軟牆(Coral Reef),擷取生物群聚叢生與共棲的特性,設計模組化兒童家具。
The inspiration of biomimicry design comes from daily life, its ingenious structures and forms are the result of time refinement. In Taiwan, due to the unfamiliarity and misunderstanding of biomimicry design, its design value is not fully developed or taken seriously. This thesis proposed a biomimicry procedure for product design by logical thinking and was supported by both domestic and foreign distinguished cases of biomimicry design. The results indicated an alternative thinking possibility for modern unitary simplistic design style.
This thesis started from the discussion of the origin and definitions of biomimics. The developments and techniques of biomimics in design and engineering application were explored. The essentials and principles of green design were summarized. The idea of biomimicry green design was introduced in subsequent designs and was supplemented with the elements of product semantics to develop an applicable biomimicry procedure for product design.
Three works were proposed to review the applicability of the biomimicry green procedure for product design as follows. (1) JellyFiShoe: a pair of deformable jelly shoes inspired by the tensile movement of creature body. (2) Cocoon Vase: the metamorphosis process was introduced in the vase design. (3) Coral Reef: a modular children’s furniture stimulated by tussock and commensalism of creatures.
