自 2008 年全球金融風暴以來，企業在節省資訊技術(Information
Technology, IT)成本的前提下，基於降低成本、提升效率、簡化管理與
節能減碳等目標的考量，企業導入伺服器虛擬化技術的比例越來越高。
企業要兼顧提高投資報酬率並減少IT 運作成本，必須從降低總持有成
本（Total cost of ownership, TCO）的觀點著手，而不只單純思考硬體建
置成本。企業IT 人員如何正確規劃與導入伺服器虛擬化技術，並妥善
管理實體與虛擬混合的運算環境，做到運用有限資源達成最高使用效益
的目標，皆為企業IT 部門必須審慎思考與解決的課題。
本研究之目的在透過一個個案研究，整理與分析個案公司實施伺服
器虛擬化技術之導入前置規劃工作與導入方法，與導入過程中所面臨的
問題，及導入後追蹤及預期的成效。本研究提出了一套伺服器虛擬化運
用於企業環境的架構，供其他準備導入的企業參考了解導入的過程及方
法，以減少不必要的投資，並獲得伺服器虛擬化技術帶來的投資效益。
本研究發現，導入伺服器虛擬化的運用架構必須考量未來之擴充需
求與企業IT 持續運作規劃，從降低總持有成本的觀點著手，善用免費
的資源與工具並多參加研討會以獲取相關技術與他人經驗。另外虛擬伺
服器需留有備轉容量以降低實體主機損毀的風險。最後，必須謹記伺服
器虛擬化的重點是穩定、效能、成本與方便。

Since the global financial turmoil happened in 2008, the ratio of
numbers of enterprises which deploy the technology of server virtualization
in order to save information technology (IT) cost, improve efficiency,
simplify management and reduce carbon emissions is getting higher. If
enterprises want to enhance return on investment (ROI) and reduce IT
operating costs, they need to take the viewpoint of total cost of ownership
(TCO) rather than the hardware implementation cost. It is an important issue
for all IT departments of enterprise that how to appropriately plan and
further deploy the server virtualization technology to achieve the objectives
of the maximum utilization of the limited IT resource in the both physical
and virtual computing environment.
The purpose of this study is to systemize and analyze the planning
activities and the deployment method if an enterprise wants to deploy the
server virtualization technology through a case study method. The
difficulties and the performance are also investigated in this study. The result
of this study can be a good reference for other enterprises if they want to
deploy the server virtualization technology. It also help these enterprises
reduce the unnecessary investment and hence acquire the investment returns
of server virtualization technology.
This study found that the deployment of server virtualization
technology should consider the future expansion needs of IT, the total cost of
ownership of the continuous IT operation, the use of open resources, tools
and seminars to obtain the relevant technologies and experiences of others.
Meanwhile, the virtual server must have enough operation capability to
reduce the risk of the physical damage. Finally, it is advised that the focuses
of the server virtualization are stability, performance, cost and convenience.
