台灣目前護理人力短缺的問題,近年來受到各媒體的關注與討論,長期以來職場環境不佳以及超時工作,讓新生代不願進入護理職場,也導致醫療品質無法提升,所以希望透過創新醫療資通訊技術(Information and Communication Technology, ICT )提高醫護品質,幫助醫護人員有效率的完成護理工作,減輕護理人員的工作負荷。醫療院所病患施打點滴時,醫護人員常常穿梭在各病房之間,就為”點滴是否已滴空”,跑好幾趟冤枉路是正常的,甚至點滴滴空時未能及時處理造成醫療糾紛也是時有所聞,市面上無相關真正適用的點滴滴空偵測之醫療產品,本研究為著眼於醫療ICT創新服務相關議題,針對點滴監控系統開發之可行性及研發技術做深入探討,利用相關資通訊技術及物聯網之概念,開發出創新的點滴監控設備及生理監測系統,完整的監測機制除可提供個人使用,更適合醫療院所系統化的建置,有了此系統可幫助護理人員掌控病患施打點滴的狀況,如點滴已滴空即可進行處理,期望點滴監測系統能提升醫療服務品質。
The current Taiwan nursing workforce shortage is a very critical problem. Poor workplace environment and regular overtime deter the younger generation unwilling to join the nursing career. This nursing staff shortage jeopardizes and lowers the quality of patient care.
An innovated solution to this nursing shortage to improve health care quality is through medical technology ICT (Information and Communication Technology, ICT) to assist nurses to complete their nursing work efficiently and reduce their workload. When patients are administered with an intravenous drip treatment in medical institutions, frequent check whether the intravenous drip is empty or not by nursing staff is required which adds to nursing staff’s already heavy workload in patient care.
This study focuses on issues related to health care services ICT innovation and investigates the feasibility and R & D for developing the medical products for detecting the real intravenous drip empty to improve patient care.
We are using the ICT and Internet of Things (IOT) concepts to evaluate the innovative drip monitoring equipment and physiological monitoring systems. We believe comprehensive monitoring mechanism is not only for personal use, but also is more suitable for medical institutions with the systematic processing.
With this drip monitoring system, it can help nurses to precisely administer and control patient’s intravenous drip flow volume. It can also signal nurses when it is empty. We hypothesize that the drip monitoring system can improve the quality of medical services.
