This study is based on the theory of web-based learning community, learning portfolio, and career planning model. It is substantiated based on this framework to construct the prototype of information system for learning career planning of college students on Internet. With the combination and implementation of these tripartite principles, it can be achieved to promote experience sharing, interaction, and communication between community members and benchmarking member. Under the guidance of system, there are three benefits can be acquired for the members of community. First, the members can plan and take down their learning career. Second, the system can advance qualities and efficiencies of members’ getting learning career information. And finally, they are able to accomplish the goals of self-examination, correction of self-study and ability of career planning advance.

This study applies the system display method based on the Literature review. By means of case study method, the author use questionnaires and in-depth interviews for data collections. From this study, the author found the following findings: (1) The combination of learning community and career planning model helps individual learners to facilitate knowledge construction; (2) The diversification of career information encourages learner to use the Learning Career Community System; (3) The better group interaction mechanism, it helps to promote knowledge and experience sharing; (4) Building a benchmarking environment leads learners to make self-examination and correct self-study; (5) The clear task of career planning, it helps to the ability of career planning advance for college students.

This research has two suggestions: (1) Implementation of the concept of career planning; (2) The implementation of community system is need the support of high-order executives and the cooperation of relevant administrative personnels.
