「圖書館」自古以來是文化的守護者，也是人類的最重要智慧寶庫，提供知識文化的來源，透過閱讀所產生的力量，可以改變孩童的未來世界。現在台灣受到少子化衝擊及偏遠地區的影響，偏鄉地區的小學面臨減班及學童減少的現象，讓偏鄉學校的教育資源有所不足，所以藉由民間企業的力量，為教育投入最大心力，以縮短城市偏鄉之間的差距。
【玉山黃金種子計畫】為了提升偏鄉地區教育資源及改善圖書館閱讀環境，經由【金融本業】與【創新模式】的聯結，讓專案經費可以完全達到「自給自足」，為偏鄉地區小學打造玉山圖書館，播種知識的黃金種子。玉山銀行所追求的目標非以成為獲利最佳的企業為目的，而是成為綜合績效最好，也是最被尊敬的企業。所以，運用金融專業核心，解決社會議題，以ESG展現經營永續價值，讓玉山銀行成為善盡企業社會責任的關鍵力量。
本論文以哈佛個案方式撰寫，藉由個案銀行推動黃金種子計畫為研究對象，探討個案以金融創新及創造價值，致力公益活動，以達到企業永續經營。本個案內容透過商業模式、資源基礎理論、M型社會及企業社會責任等四項經營管理議題，深入研討個案銀行為全國偏鄉小學打造玉山圖書館，結合在地人文特色與孩童的需求來設計，幫助偏鄉孩童解決社經弱勢的現況，讓孩童樂於進入圖書館閱讀學習，啟發創造力與想像力，為臺灣打造永續的希望。

This thesis is written in the form of a Harvard case, using the case bank to Promote the Golden Seed Project as the research object, discussing the case's use of financial innovation and value creation, and dedication to public welfare activities to achieve sustainable business operations. The content of this case is based on four business management issues, including business model, resource-based theory, M-shaped society, and corporate social responsibility, to conduct in-depth discussions on how the case bank builds E. Sun Library for rural primary schools across the country, to help children from remote villages solve their social and economic disadvantages Let children be happy to enter the library to read and learn, inspire creativity and imagination, and create a permanent continued hope.
