隨著建築工程技術的日益進步，建築工程日漸朝向高樓化及大型化的趨勢發展，在講求減輕荷重及縮短工期的要求下，國內建築工程傳統上常使用的紅磚隔間牆已漸由輕隔間系統牆取代，成為國內建築業者廣為使用之新工法。
本研究蒐集國內常用之輕隔間系統牆之圖說、規範、施工程序、施工注意事項、適用範圍及施工照片等文件資料，導入「知識管理」的觀念，以國內相當普及的網際網路及資料庫系統及圖形應用軟體，將所蒐集之資料加以分析及歸類，最後建立一套多功能性且同時兼具知識交換及保存功能之知識平台，再透過不斷地將資料回饋匯入，完成一套輕隔間工程之專家系統可作為設計及施工依據，達到設計者、使用者及施工者三方三贏的效益。
主要結論可歸納下列幾點：
1.應用知識管理觀念處理國內眾多常見輕隔間牆種類及型式，具有
方便辨識正確資訊、統一構件名稱 、減少誤用及避免爭議等優點，將為日後處理類似工程資訊之趨勢。
2.多功能性輕隔間工程知識平台兼具實用及教學功能，知識得以保
存、傳播及管理，可在適當時機提供決策，提昇組織效率及競爭力。

Today architectural advancement is moving towards more improved construction techniques and larger scaled construction developments. The need to decrease structural loading as well as construction time for projects results in the use of light-weight partitions as substitute for brickwork. This is a form of construction technique which has become more commonly used by local designers.
This research is collects of locally used light-weight partition drawings, codes and standards, construction process, observation points during construction and photographs. This data is then analyzed and induced with the concept of Knowledge-Management and recorded on an online database application software, where users can search for required information.
This research builds a multi-function knowledge platform, which not only plays the role of facilitating information exchange but also creates an information storage system. According to the sustained feedback from users and designers, this expert system can be used as a tool for design and construction of light-weight partitions.
In conclusion the following major points are notable:
1.The application of the concept of Knowledge-Management to
handling numerous and various kinds and styles of commonly used local light-weight partitioning has many merits, e.g., handily identify the correct information, unify the designation of components, reduce misuse, avoid controversy, etc. Such concept will become the trend to deal with similar engineering information in the future.
2.The multi-functional platform of engineering knowledge for
light-weight partitioning has both practical and educational functions such that the knowledge can be preserved, disseminated and managed. It can also form a policy at proper timing and encourage a more competitive and improved efficient organized system
