期貨交易教育中心，提供各種期貨教學軟體與訓練，其中虛擬交易所系統更提供模擬下單之環境，然該系統受限於定點使用之限制，僅能做為教育訓練軟體使用，而無法滿足長時間操作需求之使用者。因此本研究擬透過網際網路無遠弗屆之特性，並將現有虛擬交易所系統相關功能加以擴充與補強，發展為線上期貨模擬交易平台，以提供更多使用者使用，充分發揮其效能。
本研究先就線上學習相關文獻進行探討，並經分析國內外線上期貨模擬交易平台之功能後，探討線上期貨模擬交易平台應具備之功能，除交易、結算、帳務等功能外，本研究認為線上期貨模擬交易平台應提供多媒體課程及模擬交易競賽等相關功能，並將此類功能加以整合，使其線上學習功能趨於完善。
本研究發現，線上期貨模擬交易平台因不受時間與地點之限制，使用者更可適當地評估其投資期間之績效，且其整合多媒體課程之機制，可取部分現行期貨交易教育中心之課程。倘若使用者有效地使用線上期貨模擬交易平台，則能避免於真實交易中降低因不了解交易流程，而產生之交易錯誤。此外，於線上期貨模擬交易平台舉辦競賽，可避免過去價格不合理及無法以績效制計算排名之狀況，更可以刺激潛在客戶參與期貨市場之意願、推廣現行期貨商品及制度。

Futures education center provide various futures teaching software and training. In futures teaching software, the virtual exchange system provides the trading environment close to the market. But the system is limit to use in certain place. It only can be the use for training purpose but can not be able to meet the long term operating users’ expectation. In order to server more and more users and use essential more efficient of the virtual exchange system, we hope to develop and reinforce the existing system into online futures virtual trading platform by implementation of the ubiquitous characteristic of Internet (free the limitation of time and space).
The study reviews the relevant literature of online learning and analyzes the functions of domestic and foreign online futures virtual trading platform first. Then it discusses the functionalities of online futures virtual trading platform. Not only the function of trading, clearing, and account, but we also found the online futures virtual trading platform should provide the relevant functions of multimedia courseware and virtual trading competition. These functions also should be integrated to make the online learning function becomes more and more perfect.
In this study, because of the online futures virtual trading platform is free the limitation of time and space, the users can evaluate investment performance properly. The platform also can implement multimedia courseware to replace a part of courses in the futures education center. If using the platform effectively, the users will avoid trading mistake in the real trading due to misunderstanding trading process. If competition on the platform, it will eliminate the unreasonable bid price and rank by performance. It also can stimulate prospects and promote products and mechanism.
