Many enterprises had begun gradually to value the impacts of ecological hazards in their operations. Environmental pressures have caused green supply chain management (GSCM) to emerge as an important corporate environmental strategy for manufacturing enterprises. For manufacturers to fully realize the performance potentials of GSCM that could give any influences to their performance especially in competitive advantage. This study believes that more enterprises would invest in GSCM. Therefore, two studies were investigated, the first is the influences of proactive environmental strategy on IT infrastructure integration for GSCM and Green Supply Chain process integration as well as to explore that integration can assist enterprises in obtaining competitive advantage. And the second, the consistency among GSCM facilitating factors in obtaining competitive advantage.
The data was collected from the top 1000 Taiwanese manufactures issued by Commonwealth magazine of Taiwan in 2012. The results from the first study reveal that: “Proactive Environmental Strategy” is positively associated with “IT Infrastructure Integration for GSCM” and “Green Supply Chain Process Integration”. Then “IT Infrastructure Integration for GSCM” significantly influences “Green Supply Chain Process Integration”. Also “Green Supply Chain Process Integration” has a significant effect on “Competitive Advantage”. Therefore, enterprises should adopt a proactive environmental strategy and enhance their investment in GSCM integration capability. And for the second study, the result reveal that: “The consistency among the facilitating factors in GSCM positively enhance Competitive Advantage”.
