本論文以簡單且輸出穩定的自製環型被動鎖模光纖雷射為主,製作一個輸出光功率等化的波長可調式雷射光源,並試驗了背接、25公里與35公里的一般單模光纖、40公里真波光纖與40公里LEAF光纖兩種特定非零色散位移光纖經色散補償後的傳輸效果,最後並嘗試注入費布里-泊洛雷射二極體鎖模,進行直接調變效能量測。
論文中,展示數種實驗架構,含環型主動諧波鎖模、環型有理數諧波鎖模、加電光調變器之環型被動鎖模、無電光調變器之環型被動鎖模。也探討無電光調變器之環型被動鎖模架構中,放置半導體光放大器造成的影響,並與一台可調式半導體雷射光源作效能比較。
In this thesis, we demonstrate ring passive mode-locking fiber lasers that are simple and stable, and their use as wavelength tunable laser sources which have equalized output power. The transmission characteristics have been studied among the back to back transmission, the 25km and 35km standard single-mode fiber, the 40km TrueWave fiber and 40km LEAF fiber of the non-zero dispersion shifted fiber. The dispersion effect on the transmission in the two special fibers is also studied. Finally, an attempt is made to inject the fiber laser output into Fabry-Perot laser diode, and to study the direct modulation effect.
Several experimental structures are shown in this thesis, including a ring active harmonic mode-locking structure, a ring rational active harmonic mode-locking structure, a ring passive mode-locking structure with electro-optic modulatior, and a ring passive mode-locking structure without electro-optic modulatior. And, we also discuss the influence of the use of a semiconductor optical amplifier on the ring passive mode-locking structure without electro-optic modulator, and compare its characteristics with that of a tunable semiconductor laser source.
