本研究主要探討背光模組中導光板底面網點的排列分布對發光面均勻度的影響。研究的進行首先依據實體量測的數據,建立商用側入式背光模組的電腦模型。其次利用光學套裝軟體的模擬程式,尋求設計參數的較佳值。研究中發現,導光板網點的半徑為影響背光模組均勻度的最主要參數。為了有效的比較不同參數所對應的輝度,研究分兩階段進行。首先是以局部電腦模型估算可能的較佳設計,其次以完整模型進行光學特徵的驗證。在分析的過程中發現對應的目標函數有不少局部最佳解。因此本研究使用遺傳演算法,以網點半徑作為設計變數;均勻度為目標函數進行搜尋。演算得到的最佳設計以完整模型進行模擬時,顯示出同樣優異的光學特性。
This work investigates the irradiance uniformity of backlight units(BLU) as different microstructures(dot radius) were put on their light guide plate(LGP). The research is started from building a CAD model of an edge lighting BLU based on the measured data from a commercial 15.4” liquid crystal display. The radius of microstructures had been identified as the most critical parameter to the performance of LGP from the preliminary simulation. Later, other sizes of dots are assigned to the CAD model for the further analysis. In order to accelerate the process design, the simulations were conducted on a part of a CAD model instead of a complete model. It is found that the objective function, which is the uniformity of the LGP, reveals several local minimum values as the dot sizes vary. Therefore, the genetic algorithm is employed to search for the best value for the dot radius. The optimal design obtained is examined with a full CAD model and the results show that and the new design has a similae optical characteristics as the current products.
