Light and shadow are both important elements for forming a space and its atmosphere. Comparing to the traditional way, the projection mapping is a creative method which can change the face of the space rapidly and saves us lots of manpower and cost. Therefore, I will focus on how far the projection mapping will bring the possibility for the space performance in the future.
By using light and shadow, we can make a new face for the original space and transform its geometry. To construct the architecture, the projection mapping is not only an ideal concept but also has the feasibility of the practice. In the thesis, I study and sort out some representative cases of the projection mapping which transform the space surprisingly. The projection mapping could be said already a modern scenery tool for architecture.
Besides, I also have a series of projection mapping experiment to echo the above concept and case study. Through the actual doing, in the course of finding and solving problems, I believe the projection mapping will be certainly contributive to the development of the architecture and would become a general technique in the near future for the space expression.
