In modern business transactions, firms commonly use trade credit financing to continuously improve and maintain profitability in the supply chain. Trade credit financing helps the firms deal with the competitive market by controlling the inventory decisions such as unlock the money tied up in inventory. To obtain beneficial practice for both seller and the buyer, the seller now prefers to provide the buyer credit terms depend on how large the quantity ordered (i.e., order linked trade credit). This research establishes an EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) inventory model under deteriorating products and defaults risk control-based order-linked trade credit by considering the following facts. (1) The seller offers to its customer order-linked trade credit, (2) credit period affects not only on increasing demand but also the default risk, (3) demand is a function of selling price and credit period, and (4) a discounted cash-flow analysis is used to include the time value of money. The objectives are to determine the optimal credit period policies, replenishment cycle time, and selling price while maximizing the present value of the total seller's profit. Also, this research provides numerical examples and sensitivity analysis to illustrate the solution procedure and gain some managerial insight. For example, the value of procurement cost, coefficient of price, and coefficient of default risk have the most significant negative impact on the present value of total profit. Lastly, conclusions and future research directions are presented.
