The three project characteristics of the construction project, “temporary”, “unique”, and “progressive elaboration”, and under “within scope”, “on time”, and “within budget” triple constraints that cause the knowledge management of construction project much more difficult and complicated.
This study brings the view of knowledge flow into construction project to find the way of knowledge management in the project environment. Case study method and semistructured interviews are applied, grounded theory and content analysis are the analysis strategy to generalize the conclusion.
This study finds the knowledge flow in construction project is complicated and concluded with “critical knowledge of construction project”, “the influence factors of knowledge flow in project environment”, and “how knowledge transfered and their carriers” three categories and their meaning of knowledge management for construction project.
