  • A new design of slide hinge composed of many small parts is machined by milling. Accuracy is the main issue to be addressed in this thesis. The error compensation method is used to machine one of the slide parts to achieve the specified assembly tolerance. Some measurements are undertaken to ascertain that the tolerance is achieved. In addition, the method of analyzing the sources of error that contributes to the machining of the slide mechanism is described in this thesis.
