直立騎乘式三輪車是一種非常適合做為室外運動的運動器材,其理由無非是便宜、方便以及能有效的鍛鍊身體。這種車型在加裝小型輪鼓馬達後,更可成為與捷運搭配互補的短程小型代步交通工具。
不過現今的直立騎乘式三輪車多半沒有內傾裝置,過彎太快時極易向彎道外側翻覆造成事故,雖也有少數可內傾式三輪車用簡單的傾斜機構使全車在轉彎時可以內傾,但其設計的機構卻有在傾斜時轍寬會改變的重大缺失,會降低車輛的性能。
本研究旨在設計出一台新型式的直立騎乘式三輪車,以改善現有的直立騎乘式三輪車的缺失。本設計以可內傾式前一輪配後二輪型式之三輪車(以下簡稱1F/2R TTW)作為載具,經過理論分析、實車設計與製作,最後進行實際的騎乘測試,來證明此原型車確實可以改善現有直立騎乘三輪車的缺失,並保有其靈活、安全平穩的優點。
本研究所設計的1F/2R TTW擁有特殊的可傾斜模組,能夠完全消除在傾斜時轍寬會改變的缺失,並在過彎時可如同一般二輪車輛,騎乘者可依所需向心力的大小來控制內傾的角度避免車輛翻覆。本研究的1F/2R TTW原型車同時也具有摺疊功能,能將車輛摺疊後所佔的空間大幅縮小,且折疊後可以如同小型嬰兒車一樣,很輕鬆的被推拉滾動行進,因此不論是在路邊駐車、搭乘大眾運輸交通工具、或是搭電梯、移入室內都極為便利。
A three-wheeled scooter with standing riding position is a very attracting outdoor exercise machine, as far as fun, fitness, and stability are concerned. When equipped with small in-wheel motors, this kind of vehicle can be adapted into a compact, light-weighted personal commuter.
However, this kind of stand-up tricycle needs to have a special tilting mechanism to allow it to lean into turns in order to keep its riding both agile and safe. A very important requirement for such a tilting mechanism is to maintain the vehicle’s track width unchanged while leaning.
This study has designed and built a novel tilting mechanism which can achieve the above-mentioned goals on a three-wheeled scooter with two rear wheels. After test riding, the prototype vehicle proved to be very satisfactory.
Our prototype vehicle also has a foldable feature which not only can reduce the sizes of the tricycle considerably but also can let it be easily pushed around on its own wheels after folded. Thus, to bring it into elevators, subways, or buildings are no longer inconvenient or difficult ever since.
