This study aims to implement Digital Twain concept to improve the communication of product design and development communication of ODM (Original Design Manufacturing). To accurately communication and control digital information from the physical world will be the key to the development of future products. This paper clarifies the communication problems caused by the differences in geography, time difference, language, and technical cognition during the product design and development stage, and the bottlenecks that may be encountered in the future as the motive. In this regard, the concept of digital twins is studied as a medium, and base on Virtual Team to improve communication during product development.
This study is based on the virtual team model established by Jessica Lipnack and Jeffrey Stamps. From the research, it is found that the communication problem of the development team stems from the correctness and immediacy of the information, which affects the effectiveness of the virtual team and also impacts the degree of trust between the team members, which indirectly influence on the overall performance and cost.
Through the Digital Twin concept experiment, the management model influences the manufacturing management process and the human-machine/human-person communication mode subtly, which show positively improve decision making efficiency. Further, the loading of information collection and transmission is minimized, so that the professionals can focus on the problem-solving ideas, and making it easy for managers to make the decision, which results from the higher satisfaction of information quality.
