In recent years, social media has involved in our lives and acted as a major source of information. Social media users continue to consume a large amount of information from social networks for a long time. Some researchers have found it could increase the probability of social networks fatigue, which would lead to long-term effects on physical or mental health.

This study investigates information quality aspects in the context of using social media as an information source and adopts the Stressor-strain-outcome (SSO) framework to explore how information quality affects social network fatigue through information overload and information anxiety to understand whether they have mediating effects.

The proposed research model was empirically validated via 340 valid online questionnaires collected from Facebook users. The results indicated five dimensions of information quality on Facebook and found information anxiety has a mediating effect on the relationship between information quality and social network fatigue. When users suffer from social network fatigue, it will also cause various discontinuous usage, such as information avoidance, short breaks, control activities and suspension intension.

The findings provide some suggestions from the perspective of information quality to social media users, marketing specialists, and social media managers so as to manage and avoid factors that cause fatigue and remain active users.
