  • Taiwanese society has been changing. Younger generations tend to have different opinions when compared to older generations (Chou, Fosh, & Foster, 2005). With the Gender Equality in Employment Law in 2001, the situation for female workers have been changing too. Although little research has been conducted on this field, it is important to study how these changes have affected the mindset of Taiwanese society members.
    To get a clearer view of the condition of Taiwanese society, a thorough literature review was done. First, it went through the conceptualization of leadership and its characteristics. Then it went through a general overview of women in organizations around the Globe. Finally, some information from previous research about women and leadership around the world was presented along with the information available regarding Taiwanese female leadership.
    An exploratory research was conducted to learn what the perspectives of members of Taiwanese society regarding female leadership were. To collect the information, a survey was distributed through digital media. 150 surveys were answered in total, 9 of the participants were not living in Taiwan, so only the information collected from 141 surveys was considered for this research.
    Even though this was an exploratory research, it is expected that the reader will learn that the participants from 20 to 37 years old of Taiwanese society were supportive of female leadership. Those who belonged to generations from 38 to 55 years old tend to be more neutral.
