硬體革新與網路進化建構起雲端運算的發展基礎,加上使用者上網習慣由傳統電腦轉換到行動裝置,以及現今對於大量檔案儲存管理的需求日增,行動雲端硬碟服務蓬勃發展。另一方面,手機介面的設計有許多設計模式與原則,必須以使用者為中心進行考量,同時軟體介面也深受流行影響,越來越多軟體推出深色模式,它已是近年介面設計的重要趨勢。本研究分析現有行動雲端硬碟應用程式,找出有待發展之方向,提出新的設計方案並進行測試,期望改善行動雲端硬碟應用程式之操作體驗,並歸納出設計建議以利未來發展。
本研究包括兩階段實驗:(1)前導性實驗:選擇現有三款具有代表性之雲端硬碟應用程式測試其使用性,分析操作績效與滿意度,從中發現問題以提出設計建議。(2)驗證實驗:以前導性實驗結果以及文獻探討為基礎,進一步以改善整體操作為目標,重新設計導覽模式,並將深色模式加入設計的變項,藉由操作績效及滿意度、使用性等量表評估其對雲端硬碟應用程式造成的影響。驗證實驗採3 (導覽模式:包括(1)展開式導覽、(2)傳統式導覽、(3)翻頁式導覽) x 2 (背景呈現模式:包括(1)淺色模式、(2)深色模式)雙因子組間實驗設計。
研究結果顯示:(1)整體而言展開式導覽不論操作績效、滿意度與使用性皆優於翻頁式,而傳統式居中。(2)淺色模式與深色模式的差異對操作績效、滿意度與使用性皆不構成顯著影響。(3)介面設計的創新應考慮使用者舊有心智模式,翻頁式改動幅度過大讓使用者難以適應,展開式小幅度更改顯著提升使用性。(4)翻頁式介面上呈現之資訊量過多,階層不明確,造成操作困難與錯誤。(5)受學習效應影響,第二次的類似操作相較於第一次速度會提升,而傳統式最易於學習。
The innovation of hardware and Internet have laid the foundation for the development of cloud computing. What is more, rather than relying on computer, people nowadays are more accustomed to using mobile devices for Internet surfing. With this conversion of users’ habits and the increasing demand for large-scale file storage, mobile cloud services start booming. In addition, given that interface design for mobile phone includes numerous patterns and principles, the concept of User-Centered Design should be taken into consideration. Also, the user interfaces are deeply influenced by trend. For instance, more and more software launch Dark Mode, which has been an important trend in the user interface design currently. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze existing mobile cloud storage applications, to find out further development direction, and to propose new designs. The analysis and experiment of this study is expected to improve the operational experience of mobile cloud storage applications and summarize the design suggestions for future development.
The experiment in this study contains two phases: (1) Pilot test: Select three existing representative mobile cloud storage applications to test their usability, analyze operational performance and satisfaction, and identify problems to propose design recommendations. (2) Verification experiment: Aim to improve overall operation based on literature review as well as the results of the pretest. In this phase, navigation patterns will be redesigned and Dark Mode will also become one of the design variables. The influences that they bring to the mobile cloud storage applications will be evaluated through operational performance, satisfaction, and usability scales. The verification experiment is designed based on a 3 (Navigation Patterns including (1) Accordion, (2) Traditional, and (3) Page Swiping) by 2 (Background Visualization Modes including (1) Light Mode, and (2) Dark Mode) two-factor between-subjects design.
The results indicated that: (1) Overall, Accordion is better than Page Swiping in terms of operational performance, satisfaction and usability, while Traditional is centered. (2) Light color mode and dark mode do not have any significant influence on operational performance, satisfaction and usability. (3) The redesigning of UI should take the user's existing mental model into consideration. Since Page Swiping varies much from general user interface, it makes users hard to adapt; yet, due to the slight change of the interface, Accordion significantly improves the usability. (4) Massive information presented by Page Swiping in each interface and unclear hierarchy result in operational difficulties and errors. (5) Affected by the learning effect, the time that users spend on their second similar operation is greatly less than their first attempt, and Traditional is the easiest one to learn.
