本個案描述一位前聯發科技工程師Blue與哥哥Jack有感於聽障者與中低收入弱勢族群對助聽器需求,於2018年3月創辦洞見未來,它是一間發展 AI 聽力演算法的新創公司,而Blue是一個患有先天聽力障礙者,他運用自己研發多人聲分離語音引擎技術,希望透過科技的創新,解決助聽器高單價、體驗不佳及寡佔市場的問題,並利用晶片授權方案開拓市場之商業模式,為聽障者與洞見未來打造一個共創價值的平台,運用科技來發展廉價且品質高的助聽器,既能讓弱勢聽障者有好的助聽設備,又能擴展市場追求永續發展。
目前六大品牌助聽器寡占全世界市場,使得助聽器科技進步緩慢,且醫療資訊取得困難,洞見未來該如何擴展市場,開發低價助聽器?還是利用新的商業模式服務聽障者?還是選擇與六大品牌合作開發新產品?
本個案主要是以創新的技術為切入點,在探討如何透過該技術解決聽障者與弱勢族群的問題,並且透過該技術發展獨有的商業模式,在高品質、低成本、維修方便等誘因,解決寡占市場問題。運用創業家精神理論、商業模式理論、組織靈巧能力、共創價值理論,解決助聽器高單價、體驗不佳及寡佔市場的問題。然而,助聽器只是洞見未來創新服務的啟始點。
This case describes a former MediaTek engineer Blue and his brother Jack who were aware of hearing-impaired and middle-low-income disadvantaged populations' need for hearing aids. He founded RelaJet Tech. in March 2018, which is a new startup company that develops AI listening algorithms and models. Blue, a person with congenital hearing impairment, used his own research to develop multi-talker speech separation technology, hoping to solve the problems about high unit price without good user experience and oligopoly market of hearing aids through technological innovation, and to develop a business model through a chip licensing solution. To build a platform of co-creation value for hearing-impaired people and RelaJet Tech. Using technology to develop a cheaper with high-quality hearing aid, not only allows vulnerable hearing-impaired people to have good hearing aids, but also expands the market to pursue sustainable development.
At present, there are six major brands of hearing aids dominate the worldwide market, which resulting in slow progress in the technology of hearing aids and difficulty in obtaining medical information. How should RelaJet Tech expand the market and develop low-cost hearing aids? Or use a new business model to serve the hearing impaired? Or rather to cooperate with six major brands to develop new products?
This case is mainly based on innovative technology to discuss how to use this technology to solve the problems of the hearing impaired and vulnerable groups, and through this technology to develop a unique business model with high-quality, low-cost and easy maintenance and other incentives to solve the oligopoly market problem. This case also uses the theory, such as entrepreneurship theory, business model theory, ambidexterity and value co-creation theory, to discuss the problems about high unit price without good user experience and oligopolistic problems of hearing aids market. However, hearing aids are just the starting point of RelaJet Tech. innovative services.
