  • Every year, millions of tons of agricultural waste, by-products and industrial and municipal solid waste are discharged into the environment in Vietnam, which can cause groundwater pollution and greenhouse emissions if disposed of inappropriately using existing methods. Circular supply chain management maximizes resource utilization and minimizes waste to achieve a competitive advantage. However, previous research adopting this principle lacked proper methodologies for creating an influential model to guide resource allocation, making establishing circular supply chain management challenging. The purpose of this study is to employ a hybrid method including factor analysis, reliability test and Fuzzy synthetic method - DEMATEL method to facilitate visual analysis, improve comprehension and drive resource allocation. The results show that by taking six structural elements into account, an influential model can increase circular supply chain management performance. These six structural aspects are operation management in recycling, reversing supply chain development, awareness and responsibility enhancement, energy consumption and emission management, inter–industrial and cross-sectoral management and expert partner alignment. Therein, reversing supply chain development is the effective aspect which is influenced by the remaining 5 aspects. In addition, expert partner alignment and awareness and responsibility enhancement are prominent aspects. Developing operation/ logistics/ supply chain managers' skills, positioning in the chain and relative negotiating power, suppliers’ selection, training for senior managers and supply chain practitioners, expanding the industrial symbiotic relationship are the most important criteria for industrial advancement.
